Choose your profile and post privacy

Before your next introduction, take a moment to decide who should be able to see it.

Start with profile visibility

A new Kellokollo profile is visible to signed-in members only. The public option also allows visitors who are not signed in to view it. Public content can be copied, linked to or collected by third parties. Active public profiles with a confirmed email can appear in search results, including the display name, username, biography and city if you choose to show it. Members-only profiles are excluded. Switching to members-only prevents anonymous access, but existing search listings may take time to disappear. Use members-only visibility when you do not want anonymous visitors to view your profile.

Check the post setting as well

Each post has a public or members-only setting. Visitors can see a public post only if its author’s profile is public too. Making a profile private limits anonymous access to its posts, but it cannot recall a screenshot or a copy that someone already made. Before posting, consider whether the photo or text reveals your home, workplace, number plate, travel plans or someone else’s personal information.

Choose whether to show your city and age

You can switch city and age display on or off in Settings. Hidden city and age information is excluded from the corresponding discovery filters. Your full birthday and account email are not shown on your public profile. This does not make the service anonymous: your display name, photos, biography and interests may still identify you to people who know you.

Control incoming messages

Choose messages from all members, only people you follow, or nobody. A follow is your choice, not a commitment to continue chatting. You can block a person from their profile; blocking affects visibility and contact in both directions while signed in. Blocking does not stop someone viewing content you have made public while they are signed out.

Understand the limits of private messages

A conversation is restricted to its participants through the application, but messages are not end-to-end encrypted. The recipient can copy or share them, and authorized service/database access can expose stored records. Reports allow moderators to review the reported content. Avoid sending passwords, financial details, identity documents or intimate information you would not want copied.

Review your choices as circumstances change

Return to Settings when you want to change visibility, messaging or profile information. The account controls also support exporting your data and deleting your account with password confirmation. Read the privacy policy for the service’s handling of information and contact support if you need help. Account deletion cannot remove copies held independently by other people.
